The last trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker aired during Monday Night Football, and the final trailer gave us all the feels. There were highs and lows to take in, especially because it was also Carrie Fisher’s birthday. Take a look at the trailer.
Rey is seen running in a forest that looks like Endor while a ball flies through the air after her and she drops a helmet much like Luke’s from A New Hope. Being on Endor would make the most sense because that is where the Death Star went down years ago, and we see them looking at it off in the distance in another trailer. (Fingers crossed fo r some Ewok’s!) There are also scenes from inside the fallen Death Star. Rey looks like she is upset. My guess is that after she hugs Leia, she passes, and it pushes her to the brink of rage. Kylo Ren will use that to try and bring her to the Dark Side. Leia’s passing would also spark the rebellion to join together and finish this once and for all.

It looks as though Poe Dameron has taken up leadership of the Resistance with his speech and gathering. He also brings on his old friend Zorri Bliss (Keri Russell). They are joined by Lando Calrissian and all his cape goodness. It looks like Dominic Monaghan is joining the Resistance as well.

“People keep telling me they know me. No one does,” Rey says. I feel like this a nod to the previous trailer where we see a Dark Side Rey. I think her battle with the Dark Side is going to be strong because she is in so much pain. Especially since they follow that up with, “But I do,” Kylo Ren says.

We hear Palpatine talking about his rise in his ice palace. Later in the trailer, we see Rey face to face with Palpatine, and he is moving toward her.

A pretty epic scene shows a wall of Resistance ships looking like they are going to battle, and there are some familiar ships from some of the other Star Wars shows, like Ghost from Star Wars: Rebels. I bet that isn’t the only ship we will spot.

When the crew gathers on the Millennium Falcon, you can see the tracking beacon that Rey and Leia were using to find one another in The Last Jedi.

We see Babu Frick, the droid builder, working on C-3PO before he gives a heartfelt sendoff. “Taking one last look sir, at my friends,” C-3PO says. Cue all the tears. After seeing C-3PO with red eyes in the last trailer. Perhaps he becomes beyond repair after all these years. Then we see Leia hugging Rey as she cries. Again, cue the tears.

But seeing Lando and Chewie pilot the Millennium Falcon together brings a smile to my face.

Bring on the space western aspects with the Resistance riding into battle on these huge space horses.

In the scene above, it looks like Rey and Kylo Ren destroy the remainder of the Darth Vader armor together.

Just remember, “The Force will be with you,” Luke says. “Always,” Leia says. Unleash the emotion!
